Our Story

Sequoia Dental Ministries began with a vision to equip people for a career in dentistry while creating opportunities for people to build a new future for themselves and their families.

In the early days of Sequoia, we operated a dental assisting school specifically created to serve women who were rebuilding their lives after seasons of hardship. Our students came through local rehabilitation and partner programs after experiencing circumstances such as exploitation, domestic violence, addiction, and other difficult life situations.

We believed that a new beginning needed more than encouragement. It needed opportunity.

Our goal was to provide these women with a practical skillset that could lead to meaningful employment, financial independence, and stability for themselves and their families. Dental assisting offered a career path with dependable work, normal working hours, and the opportunity to become part of a healthy, supportive professional environment.

But we weren’t simply teaching a profession.

We were creating pathways to restoration.

Through hands-on training, education, and mentorship, our students were equipped to enter the dental profession with confidence. We had the privilege of watching women who had walked through incredibly difficult seasons graduate from our program and begin successful careers in dental offices throughout our community.

Their stories became an important part of the Sequoia story.
